Before launching Firepie, Founder and CEO, Rick Richman successfully helped start a chain of wood-fired pizza restaurants in San Jose, CA and (most recently) spent years in technology. Rick decided to leave his comfortable tech career to pursue what he really cared about, amazing pizza and convenience. With his eyes on the “pies,” Rick realized he could marry what he knew about creating delicious, high-quality pizzas with technology to meet an unmet need for pie lovers. Enter Firepie. To bring high-quality, artisan pizzas to people quickly, Rick took the ancient technology of the Italian wood-burning oven (which cooks a thin crust pizza in about 90 seconds), designed a portable pizza kitchen to place in San Francisco neighborhoods, so with a few taps on Firepie’s mobile app people can get delivery in about 15 minutes! The 10-inch crispy thin pizza arrives hot and fresh, straight from the wood-burning oven.
