At Gentle Giants Gardening we believe in a drought tolerant approach to landscape design. Whether its replacing your lawn with California native plants, or installing a new lawn using the latest in water saving sprinkler systems, we begin each design with an emphasis on saving water. Edible organic gardening is another strong interest of ours. My crew and I grow most of our own food, and our satisfaction installing, and teaching you how to use your organic, edible landscape stems from our personal passion for growing food. Even within a low maintenance, drought tolerant design there are many ways to enhance your pallet by adding aspects of edible landscaping. We are honest, reliable and creative and we want to make your garden your favorite place to relax. Drought tolerant design, Edible organic landscaping, Permaculture, Drip Irrigation, Ca. Established in 2008.
Growing up on my Uncle’s farm, I quickly learned to appreciate the value of rich, healthy, organic soil. Landscaping in the Bay Area means working with a wide variety of soils. From sand in San Francisco, to clay down the Peninsula and anything in between. We work to first build up and improve the soil in every landscape, customized around the needs of whichever style of plants we intend to use. This is the foundation from which a lush healthy garden can be realized, and an essential first step towards success. By maintaining landscapes after installing them we can monitor potential pests, diseases, or deficiencies and correct them early. Pruning, composting, and weeding will all be done at the right time to maximize each landscapes potential.Teaching is another essential value we provide. Whether it is through my Brooks Park educational classes or in the privacy of your own yard, we strive to help you fully understand our organic methods and principles, and answer any questions.
